It’s that time again—student registration for the 2025-26 school year is open earlier than usual! Starting at 8 a.m. on Tuesday, April 1, families were able to begin registering their students for the upcoming school year. Priority registration runs through April 30, so complete registration early to increase your chances of securing your child’s seat at their home-zoned campus!
For elementary campuses, a campus grade level is considered full when its student enrollment reaches capacity as determined by district and state-mandated student-to-teacher ratios. By completing priority registration NOW, uploading required documents, and then making sure your child attends the first day of class in August, your child is more likely to have a space at your neighborhood school and less likely to be required to attend a different school. Enrollment data also provides valuable information to District Administration regarding staffing needs at each school.
For families with secondary students, early priority registration is especially helpful. Students have a better chance securing spots in preferred classes and exploring areas of interest without multiple scheduling conflicts. Course enrollment numbers allow VISD to plan ahead for necessary class and program adjustments before the school year begins.
All students—both new and returning—who plan to attend a VISD school must complete registration using the district’s online system. This includes little learners enrolling in the Early Childhood Center and Pre-K programs. The process is quick, available in both English and Spanish, and helps us make sure every student is set up for success. Required documents should be submitted to complete the enrollment process.
The enrollment process is complete when all required documents have been submitted. We strongly encourage parents to upload registration documents directly into the online registration form. As part of registration, all students will need to provide proof of address and a parent or guardian’s photo ID. Updated immunization records are required for all New Students and returning Current Students entering Early Education (EE), Pre-K3 (P3), Pre-K (PK), Kindergarten (K), or seventh grade. If any additional documents are needed, your child’s school will reach out to you.
A few things to keep in mind: The week of March 24, parents of returning students received a personalized Registration Snapcode via email. Think of this Snapcode as your key to unlocking your child’s enrollment process—each student will have their own unique code. If your child is currently enrolled in VISD, and you did not receive a Snapcode email, you will need to contact the campus to update the guardian email in our student information system. All Snapcodes must be sent via email and may not be given over the phone.
Secure your child’s spot! Early registration ensures smooth planning for schools, helps teachers prepare, and gives students the best chance of getting the classes they want.
