The VISD Communications Department is thrilled to announce the third year of the VISD Insider Academy. Following a successful inaugural year, this engaging and informative program offers community members a unique behind-the-scenes look at the inner workings of our schools, providing insight into decision-making processes, educational planning, and much more.
The VISD Insider Academy consists of four interactive sessions, each focusing on a different aspect of our district operations. Additionally, participants will have the opportunity to join an exclusive field trip to see our educational facilities.

Digging Deeper: Finance & Operations
The 2026 VISD Insider Academy will take place in the VISD Board Room on the following dates: January 20 and 27; February 3 and 10 for the sessions. Each event will run from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. Additionally, participants will be recognized during the Regular Monthly Board Meeting on February 19, 2026.
Application Process
Applications for the VISD Insider Academy open on Monday, November 3, and close on Friday, November 21, at noon. Interested individuals can apply online, visit www.visd.net/insideracademy; all applications must be completed in full.
Applicants to the 2026 VISD Insider Academy must be at least 18 years old and reside within VISD boundaries. Space is limited to 30 participants, and those selected will be notified of their acceptance via email by Tuesday, Jan. 6, 2026. All participants are expected to attend each session to gain the full benefit of the program.
