Victoria ISD has partnered with the Victoria Public Library to provide our students access to Sora.  Please follow these steps to get on to Sora: (1) Go to the Sora Webpage; (2) Choose "Victoria ISD" as your school; (3) Login using your Clever login without using the @student.visd.net.  The username is the first initial, last initial, and the 6 student id number.  The password is the first initial, last initial, dash (-), and the last 4 digits of your social security number.  For example, ch123456, ch-1234.  (4) Have fun browsing books and reading!

If you would like to see which titles have Accelerated Reader quizzes available, please visit AR BookFinder.  You can use this site to search for information on AR quizzes by author, title,  or subject. You can also enter a reading range to find books on certain levels.

We also offer access to the following online websites, encyclopedias and research databases. To gain access to these exciting and educational resources for you and your child to use at home, please email the librarian or ask your child’s homeroom teacher.

Pebble Go is a emergent reader research solution.  This database is user friendly for our youngest students, as well as fun and engaging.

 Kids.gov is a research database with access to full text magazine articles from a variety of sources.  The most useful sections for elementary provides links to government sites as well as other organizations for kids.  This site is divided into grades K-5, 6-8 and teachers.  Kids.gov is a wonderful place for students to explore and learn new information.

Britannica Online School Edition provides access to a full encyclopedia plus a variety of other features including educational games.

Gale is a research database with access to full text magazine articles from a variety of sources.  The most useful sections for elementary students are the Kid Infobits and Infobits Junior links.  Students can search safely on these sites and are a wonderful place for students to explore and learn new information.

We Give Books is a great website that has FREE e-books.  All you have to do is join (takes 10 seconds) and you can access hundreds of ebooks that are in color and best of all free! Enjoy reading online!

KidsClick! provides a safe way for students to search on the web.  This user friendly database, designed by librarians, has over 6,400 sites.

BrainPOP and BrainPOP Jr. are fun educational sites that have educational movies, homework help, leveled quizzes, games and activities for kids.
