We would like to highlight the success of the “Stand Up! Speak Out!” Anti-Bullying Program at STEM Middle School initiated by Assistant Principal, Ms. Shannon Sawyer. The VISD Education Foundation provided a $35,019 Transformative Grant to combat bullying and create a safer, more inclusive environment for all students.

Here are a few exciting ways that the grant was used:

- An “Anti-Bullying” Day was created and featured renowned anti-bullying guest speaker, Fabian Ramirez

- Students were given a T-Shirt, posters and monthly themes to focus on the anti-bully message

- Students were taught how to safely intervene or report incidents

Let's celebrate a successful Grants for Great Ideas project!

The “Helping our Littles with BIG Emotions” was initiated by Instructional Coach, Ms. Katherine Broomfield. 

The VISD Education Foundation provided a $5,902 grant to the F.W. Gross Early Education Center to purchase equipment for a sensory room that would help children learn how to cope through BIG emotions and encourage educational development.
